Occasion: The Pretoria newspaper Die Volksstem distributed the medal on the day when the President was buried in Pretoria. The Wienecke bust was modelled from life whilst the President was in Europe, and , according to the Cape Town newspaper Ons Land, in its publication Ons Land Hulde aan President Kruger, 1905, this medal sold for 1/6 in bronze and was very popular.
